Nick Bayer is the President and C.E.O. of Saxbys Coffee Worldwide, a franchisor of gourmet coffee shops under the brand Saxbys Coffee®, as well as a roaster and wholesaler of coffee products under both the Saxbys Coffee® and Bucks County Coffee® brands. Nick has guided the company to 35 units in 9 states since co-founding Saxbys in August of 2005. Zach Koff '02, Director of Operations, SHAKE SHACK
Zach graduated from the Cornell Hotel School in 2002 and began work for BRAVO! Development Inc (now the BRAVO/BRIO Restaurant Group) in New Orleans. For the next 8 years, he managed and opened new market locations for the company in San Antonio, Chicago and Oklahoma City. In 2010, Zach joined SHAKE SHACK (a part of Union Square Hospitality Group) as the company began its plans to expand its operations outside of New York. For the past year, he has helped integrate SHAKE SHACK into the Miami community and has plans to open additional locations in Southern Florida. Currently he is gearing up to open the next SHAKE SHACK in Washington DC, but not before he gets married in Austin, Texas 6 days after this event!
Jay Treadwell '61, Principal, Optimum Hospitality Services
John P. "Jay" Treadwell is a principal in Optimum Hospitality Services. He has 48 years of experience as a leader and consultant in development and management of institutional, restaurant, conference center, and other foodservice operations. In 1961, Mr. Treadwell earned a BS from the School of Hotel Administration. His early employment included being an officer in the U.S. Navy, where he successfully turned around a money-losing officers' club. After the Navy, Mr. Treadwell joined Pan American World Airways as a supervisor of cost control in their in-flight division. He rose in the ranks to become manager of food and beverage operations responsible for 18 flight kitchens and 3 frozen food kitchens worldwide. He later became senior director of in-flight services and was instrumental in the development of cabin systems for the Boeing 747. It was his idea to have a no-smoking section on an aircraft in 1971; previously there had not been one on any airline. Read more...
